22 seconds… until Lindsay Boxer loses her badge – or her life.
SFPD Sergeant Boxer has guns on her mind.
There’s buzz of a last-ditch shipment of drugs and weapons crossing the Mexican border ahead of new restrictive gun laws. Before Lindsay can act, her top informant tips her to a case that hits disturbingly close to home.
Former cops. Professional hits. All with the same warning scrawled on their bodies.
You talk, you die.
Now it’s Lindsay’s turn to choose.
Thank you to the publisher for my proof copy of this book, I am on a bit of a James Patterson run right now and enjoying his recent publications immensely.
The latest instalment from the Women’s Murder Club, Lindsay Boxer takes centre stage as she and husband Joe Molinari are both drawn into an investigation relating to illegal gun imports from Mexico to LA. What follows is fast paced, action packed, tense crime fiction. Highly readable and entertaining. The other members of the Women’s Murder Club play less of a role in this one, Lindsay’s support network absolutely, but they feel like they are more on the periphery.
That said it feels like it has been a while since I caught up with Yuki, Cindy and Claire – the aforementioned Women’s Murder Club along with Lindsay and it was nice to spend time with these familiar characters again.
For fans of James Patterson – absolutely and those who enjoy decent crime writing. Patterson is the master of the crime series and this one, along with the Alex Cross series are two of his more prolific. A great series, but if you haven’t read any, do please start at the beginning, these characters are familiar and they all have their backstories, this is crime fiction yes, but it is also the stories of 4 brave, ambitious and successful women working collaboratively to solve the crimes occurring in their home of San Francisco.
